Supplier Relationship Manager - £500 per day


Our client is a global health care brand and they are currently recruiting for an interim Supplier Relationship Manager to join their team based in the West of London for a minimum of three months, but with strong potential to go longer term.

Accountabilities and activities:
  • Building and maintaining ongoing relationships with suppliers.
  • Ownership of Service Level Agreements and the quality of service provided by suppliers.
  • Holding regular governance meetings with suppliers and ensuring that appropriate due diligence is performed.
  • Instigating and developing action plans to remedy poor supplier performance and managing these plans through to successful conclusion
  • Collaborating with suppliers to look at innovations to products, supply chain etc to generate additional value to both parties
  • Resolution of operational and service incidents ensuring that root cause analysis is undertaken and processes are amended/implemented where appropriate.
  • Owning and managing supplier risk profile to ensure risks are mitigated or accepted and that our client is a customer of choice.
  • Ensuring that suppliers fulfil FCA compliance (where applicable).
  • Identifying tangible service level improvements and then translate them into relationship development plans with suppliers
  • Assessing business development opportunities within the wider market place
  • Where initiated through SRM, ensuring smooth implementation of service improvement projects and for successful handover to operational business stakeholders.
  • Developing and maintaining plans to prioritise and implement continuous improvement in terms of service, cost, risk and flexibility
  • Leading regular service review meetings with strategic suppliers that are manage by SRM to review overall supplier performance including cost reductions, continuous improvement opportunities, quality and service.
  • Provide regular updates to the business stakeholders which may include supplier scorecards, the SRM Dashboard and management information reports if required.
  • Proven Supplier engagement and / or Relationship Management experience. Blue chip company experience.
  • A good working knowledge of performance measurement, reporting methods and technology.
  • A good knowledge of supply chain processes and the tools and techniques that can be used to improve them.
  • Knowledge and experience of contract terms and conditions with an emphasis on drafting schedules.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a demonstrable record of value based delivery
  • Effective communication skills at all levels and with excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to be well organised and accurate under pressure and to gather collate, analyse and present large amounts of purchasing strategy, market and financial data.
