Junior Category Manager – FTSE100 FMCG Major – £40-45k + Excellent Benefits – Modern Central London Offices



Widely-regarded for their world-class commercial team and innovative product range, blue-chip FMCG firm seeks an ambitious procurement professional to enter a growth position in their indirect procurement function. Entering a newly-created role, the successful individual will be given the autonomy to create strategic category plans, partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to understand the firm’s commercial objectives, before applying procurement principles to achieve maximum results. Joining during a period of unprecedented expansion, this position has a clear path towards senior leadership as the organisation seek to hire individuals that will thrive in their supportive sourcing team.



Junior Category Manager Responsibilities:
  • Work with different areas of the business to develop strategic category plans across various indirect categories
  • Strategically source new suppliers, managing the full end-to-end tender process to maximise savings and create value within the function
  • Liaising with global stakeholders to effectively sell the value of procurement and increase the value of mandated spend
  • Creating and implementing innovative ideas for the long and short-term development of the function



Junior Category Manager Requirements:
  • Involvement in managing large spends across direct or indirect categories with a proven track record of generating savings and creating value in a function
  • Experience strategically sourcing new suppliers and managing the full end-to-end tender process
  • Strong experience drafting and managing contracts with existing and new suppliers
  • CIPS and Degree qualified (desirable) achieving a 2.1 or equivalent
