My client a market leading global FMCG business is looking for a Junior Customer to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or a junior supply chain professional to learn how to forecast and grow and develop into a Customer Demand Planner.

As a Junior Customer Demand Planner you'll be responsible for creating a robust short, medium and long term customer forecasts, collaborating with the customer on a regular basis which in turn will enable the business to achieve Customer Service and Finished Goods targets.

Your responsibilities will include:


  • Using key inputs from customers and sales teams to create the most reliable forecast by customer and by SKU
  • To ensure regular forecasting reviews with the customer and the sales team analysing previous promotional performance and offering solutions to improve where possible
  • Regularly cleanse all data within the planning system to ensure the data is being used to its full potential
  • Monitor daily sales and adjust customer forecasts as necessary to ensure supply and to work closely with the supply planning teams of any major changes in forecast
  • Learn and become the expert in all logistics matters relating to the given customer account
  • Communicate all medium-long term service or supply issues to the customer
  • Represent Supply Chain at internal S&OP meetings and challenging thinking on forecasts where appropriate

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Graduate calibre or equivalent working experience
  • Prior experience working in a FMCG environment advantageous
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • A ‘can do’ attitude with an enthusiasm to learn forecasting/Demand Planning
  • Strong IT skills particularly in Excel – Pivot Tables, VLOOOKUP, SUM, IF
  • Be customer focused
  • Have a process improvement mentality
