Logistics - Procurement Lead – FTSE50 International FMCG - £40,000 – South West England

This FMCG Giant is looking for a Logistics Procurement Lead to manage spends for the Logistics category including warehousing and all modes of freight transport.

Handling these large level spends; the procurement manager will be given a large level of autonomy over the procurement strategy and will need to successfully manage a small team of buyers.

As the Procurement Lead for Logistics you will enjoy the following:-
  • Managing a team of buyers to ensure that they are delivering excellent procurement savings and keeping to the company procurement strategy
  • Reporting into the Head of Logistics on the performance of the Logistics category
  • Executing the full end to end procurement process, initially with the market research through to the supplier relationship management
  • Using market knowledge to influence and educate key business decisions linked to the Logistics procurement strategy
  • Utilising excellent negotiations, engage with board level stakeholders to keep them on board with any changes to procurement strategy

Procurement skills and experience required:-
  • Experience working within Logistics Procurement and running the full end to end procurement process
  • A proven track record of savings and supplier management, demonstrating excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Degree (or equivalent)
  • MCIPS or CIPS is preferred

This is an autonomous and ambitious role that provides a clear path of progression into more senior roles in the next 12-18 months.
