As Logistics Controller for this leading Logistics Business based in North Yorkshire you will plan and manage the delivery of fuel and associated haulage and storage contracts with a focus on optimising fuel delivery to achieve maximum value for the business.

Description

Responsibilities will include:
  • Plan, deliver and manage rail, road and storage requirements to optimise and enable best value for the company whilst ensuring contractual obligations are met
  • Ensuring administrative processes for rail and road haulage and storage are completed, including ordering, scheduling, processing of invoices, liaising with all departments.
  • Negotiate short term deals and rates with hauliers and storage operators to meet the changing requirements of the biomass and coal supply chain

Profile

Key Attributes which must be demonstrated by the successful individual include:
  • A background in Supply Chain and Logistics, including road and rail haulage, port operations and storage, with suitable experience working in an operational and commercial environment
  • Experienced and motivated with a methodical and organised approach
  • Appreciation of the impact that the Logistics function has on the rest of the business
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook applications
  • Ability to identify supply chain opportunities and bring these to the business
  • Sound commercial judgement and ability to execute value added contracts
  • Ability to work under pressure and to juggle a number of different priorities in a rapidly changing work environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, persuasion, communication and presentation skills
  • A focus on delivery performance and cost management in order to optimise margin for the business
  • A focus on delivery against targets
  • Self Starter with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • A strong team player

Job Offer

The successful candidate will be offered a salary of up to £30,000 dependent on experience.
