A successful and well known FMCG Distributor requires an experienced Logistics Manager to join the business during an exciting period of growth. As Logistics Manager you will be ultimately responsible for ensuring product flows through the operation in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible while maintaining superior levels of customer service.

Client Details

Leading FMCG Distributor based in the S. Yorkshire area requires a Logistics Manager to join the business.

Description

As Logistics Manager some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure all goods and booked in in accordance with customer/operational timetables.
  • Ensure the container inbound delivery schedule is maintained and the relevant computer systems are updated.
  • Ensure inbound containerised deliveries are made in accordance with the container delivery schedules.
  • Monitoring the Logistics department staff’s workload.
  • Ensuring all relevant container documentation is received and processed
  • Always striving to improve and save on distribution methods by sourcing new carriers, negotiating existing rates, exploring new technology.
  • Ensure that all customer deliveries dispatched on time against SLA’s agreed with the customer and in line with budgetary requirements.
  • Constantly review transport spend, taking into account the most economical way of dispatching orders and adhering to the agreed budgets with a view to saving money wherever possible.





Profile

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
  • Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain Experience
  • Previous experience of managing teams is fast moving and reactive environments
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work autonomously
  • CI Focus
  • Previous experience with Imports including legislation.

Job Offer

The successful candidate will be offered a salary of circa £30,000 dependent on experience.
