Responsible for running the internal logistics and transport management within a large FMCG customer site. Managing all internal movements, you will coordinate a team of Driver's across a shift pattern ensuring resource maximisation and customer satisfaction.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an innovative and growing distribution and logistics company on a new contract, based within the customer site.


The key responsibilities of the Logistics Manager are as follows:
  • To manage all internal transport movement across sites
  • Liaise closely with the customer
  • Ensure efficient cost and effective planning of the operation
  • Implement SOPs and KPIs
  • Ensure Driver handovers are consistently completed and are effective
  • Continually review and re-engineer the operation to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Work with all stakeholders to include internal stakeholders to ensure the net effect of any decision adds greatest value to the business
  • To maintain a well-motivated and enthusiastic team
  • Ensure all relevant operational procedures are adhered to in order maintain Company quality standards and competitiveness
  • Monitor and review operational performance and takes timely action to address any issues
  • Drives quality throughout the service depot and department challenging others to improve
  • Control costs ensuring that cost is only attributed where required
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement measures to drive the operational effectiveness of the operations
  • Understands and manages the key risks to the department ensuring escalation where necessary


The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
  • Previous experience within a Transport environment
  • International CPC qualification is essential
  • Financially savvy
  • Commercial awareness
  • Ability to question the status quo
  • Experience in developing new SOPs and Process Flow Diagrams
  • Proactive in building new and improving old processes
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Self starter
  • Leads the team, taking responsibility and ownership
  • Understands the importance of company values and drives them throughout the team and site
  • Has a clear and supportive management style
  • Has a passion for service and a strong customer focus
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and demands working under pressure to critical deadlines and objectives

Job Offer

The role of Logistics Manager is offering a salary of between £30,000 and £40,000 + benefits.
