The Logistics Planner will report into the Supply Chain Manager and will be planning and monitoring the transfer of food products through 3rd party logistics contractors. The position will be based in Liverpool but will control movements from other sites also.

Client Details

A well recognised, leading FMCG organisation with a number of sites across the UK.


The role of the Logistics Planner:
  • Create transfer orders using the ERP system.
  • To work with the 3rd party providers to ensure that vehicles are on time and meet food safety requirements.
  • On a daily basis, issue a sales order pick-list and update the order status in the ERP system.
  • Work with planners and production teams at different sites to establish the best loading times.
  • Arrange collection and delivery with express couriers (if required.)
  • Conduct a daily count of packed materials and packaging on site.
  • Check and follow up the monthly inventory counting in collaboration with finance and logistics.
  • Review invoice queries in the ERP system and ensure the site is audit ready by maintaining accurate up to date records for audits and traceability requirements.


Prerequisites required for the Logistics Planner:
  • Previous experience in logistics or supply chain role with an understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel and experience is using an MRP/ERP/WMS system
  • A good understanding of overall Supply Chain processes
  • Ability to collaborate with different departments and be a good team player
  • Well-developed analytical skills
  • Proactive mind-set with good problem solving abilities
  • Ability to set priorities and organise your work load
  • Ability to positively respond to change or create change
  • Result-oriented
