The role is to Manage & support Material Planning Team in the delivery of components from a truly International Supply Chain. You will be responsible for the supply of material forecasts to suppliers & to ensure that Raw and Pack Materials are available to be called off from the supplier within the framework of a defined & approved replenishment strategy, to meet the production plan & hence deliver the business plan.

Core responsibilities:

  • To control the release of purchase schedules using SAP, aligned with manufacturing & AOP Targets
  • Communicate to suppliers key information, including on-time delivery performance, Dana holiday dates & Customer fluctuation / schedule changes to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing. Meet with poor performing suppliers to bring them back into agreed operating targets
  • Maintain stock levels within KPI targets avoiding shortages and Special Transport.
  • Support Production Planners, Operations Management and other internal customers by ensuring material availability for new projects.
  • Work using a continuous improvement approach and develop improvements to the Scheduling and Supplier Delivery process.
  • Ensure balanced stock depletion when programs end, maintaining supply to completion without Long Term Obsolete components.
  • Work with team members to monitor/Capture Inbound Transport & Improve Invoicing.
  • Understand & Develop Material Planning Team to allow "Task Transfer" of Normal Planning Responsibilities (E.g. Supplier performance development/ Live Inventory Analysis)
  • Provide monthly reports for KPI's (including Inventory Days of stock, Premium Freight & Transport efficiency).
  • Develop systems to accurately plan & appraise Inventory DOS within the WIP Area to support production planning.





Profile



The successful materials planner will need to have the following competencies:

  • Must have working in planning role preferably in a Manufacturing and production facility
  • Work independently and with team member
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Communications skills both internally and externally
  • Ability to work on own initiative





Job Offer

£35,000- £38,000 + Package
