Job Description
MATERIALS PLANNER

FMCG MANUFACTURING
**Candidates must come from a food environment.

Job purpose: To replenish stock (packaging and ingredients) in accordance to planning forecasts.
Maintain agreed stock levels, ensuring all products are used within the product life.

Must Have:
1 Must be able to work accurately and logically paying attention to detail in a busy area.
2 Competent in Excel, good understanding of Maths.
3 Flexible approach and takes ownership of responsibilities.

Preferred:
1 Knowledge of Supply Chain.
2 Understanding of stock control and short life products.

Role Accountabilities:
1 Provide accurate forecasts to suppliers as reviewed and agreed with the Purchasing Manager and the Planning Manager.
2 Ensure that 100% Customer service level to the factory is maintained at minimal cost. Ensuring customer service levels are met internally (to warehouse).
3 Discuss with suppliers and internal departments any issues regarding stock items, resolving problems with quality, delivery times or shortages to a satisfactory conclusion, flagging unresolved issues to the Purchasing Manager and the Planning Manager.
4 Determine inventory levels and replenishment rules to minimise out of life disposals of raw material. This to be achieved by balancing the most efficient delivery cycles with the optimum volumes.
5 Co-ordinate the de-listing of potential obsolete materials avoiding or minimising any obsolete stocks or stock disposals.
6 Manage all replenishment KPI’s providing a weekly summary.

This role requires good interpersonal skills. There will be lots of telephone conversations with suppliers, which must then be communicated with the factory.
Targeted on wasteage, factory service levels and on running costs.
IT & Excel Skills needed, good communication skills.
Must be able to understand the concept of short shelf life products.
Working within a team of 5 people.
