Working within our Rowlett Rutland brand you will lead and manage the total assembly operation including supply chain to ensure we deliver our sales volumes.  You will also review supply base to ensure delivery and quality in line with site business expectations.  This is a new position as we have relocated the assembly lines to Bristol from their previous base in Surrey.  This means that the initial aspects of the role will include establishing our supply chain, organising the new assembly lines and establishing the new status quo in order for us to be productive as quickly and efficiently as possible.  You will be leading a team who are setting up the operation, so the role is about creating the structure rather than inheriting an established one. 

Rowlett Rutland toasters are renowned for being made in Britain and offering the highest quality and this must be at the forefront of all decision making.  The successful candidate will have previous experience from within a similar manufacturing environment as an Operations Manager, preferably from an electro-mechanical background.  You will also have well developed people management, stakeholder management and diplomacy skills. 

As Operations/ Supply Chain Manager your main responsibilities will be:

  • Ensuring the supply is 100% on time and in full
  • Delivering zero quality defects on incoming components and outgoing finished goods
  • Achieving our production plan to quality and volume specifications
  • Ensuring effective sales order process to deliver product against the forecast
  • Managing the supply chain from sourcing and purchase through production to despatch
  • Supporting, managing and engaging the team to ensure maximum performance
  • Adhering to all relevant health and safety practices at all times

To apply for this role your experience and skills should include:

  • Previous experience within a similar manufacturing environment as an Operations Manager
  • Strong people management skills
  • Knowledge of Lean is desireable
  • Developed communication skills with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders of all levels
  • Advanced supplier management skills
  • Demonstrable results achieved through driving performance improvement through effective ERP management
