Based in Medway, Kent and working for a recognised market leader within their field, the Planning Manager (FMCG) will be responsible for managing the sites supply chain team in order to deliver 99% customer service at minimal cost, maximum efficiency and timely manner.

Client Details

Our client are UK leaders in their field holding a 90% value share of the market. Manufacturing over 300 million products each year they are the largest scale manufacturer within the industry. Their products are sold in a range of countries including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, France and Germany.


The Planning Manager (FMCG) will be responsible for managing the sites supply chain team in order to deliver 99% customer service at minimal cost and ensuring that all ingredients/packaging are available in a timely manner to deliver this.
    • To manage the site's supply chain team in conjunction with site operations seeking to improve operation and/or reduce cost
    • To take ownership and control of any processes associated with driving demand, site utilisation, and product availability with our customers
    • To ensure appropriate plant capacity is aligned with forecasted demand, issues are highlighted and resolutions are sought
    • To ensure planning data is current and accurate, and KPI's are reported on, process improvements are explored and implemented
    • To develop and track KPI’s that show current customer demand / availability and strategies to improve.
    • To oversee/control site stock-holding of materials to be aligned with site production requirements.
    • To ensure the supply chain team adheres to the site’s health, safety and environments rules
    • Use of formal Production Planning & ERP/MRP techniques to drive operational processes
    • Drive information flow between NPD, Production, Supply Chain and customers
    • Communicating both internally and externally with a broad range of people across all sites, 3PL’s, hauliers and customers


The successful Planning Manager (FMCG) will be able to demonstrate:
  • Exposure to a Planning and MRP function
  • Strong commercial background in delivering savings to the business
  • Numerical reasoning and ability to work with large amounts of data
  • Technical ability to work with ERP systems
  • Ability to gather information quickly and be decisive
