Macildowie are excited to present a new opportunity for an experienced Planning Manager to join an established, successful and growing FMCG business.



The current Planning Manager is developing their career elsewhere in the business, which is leaving this role vacant soon. This is good news as it serves both as proof that this organisation is committed to developing their employees, and gives the incoming candidate peace of mind that the wheels haven’t fallen off regarding the operational context of this role.



So what is this organisation in need of to maintain the current high standards of their planning capability? Well, the successful candidate will need to give them peace of mind that they are able to cope with a complex and busy operational environment. What specifically does this mean? Candidates must be accustomed to working with units in the order of many millions, so if you come from a retail background or sizeable consumables manufacturer, it would be ideal. Regarding complexity, the operations will soon be required to run 168 hours a week, so you need to enjoy managing a team that ensures these operations run smoothly seven days a week. This brings us on to the people management aspects of the role. You must be able to demonstrate how you have engaged and motivated people to be proud of their work, to roll with the punches and to put customers at the centre of what they do. There is a team that helps ensure customers are happy, these important people will be a part of your remit too.



We mentioned earlier that the operations run well currently, but change and continuous improvement will always dictate that there will be tweaks to be made. These will need to be made with diligence, efficiency and logically, in a way that staff and customers alike will enjoy. Essential experience:

* Significant leadership experience within a Planning Management remit

* Recent experience in a sizeable consumables business

* Skilled at designing and delivering against KPIs to ensure customers are satisfied

* Helping deliver change projects successfully

* Sound knowledge of complex integrated systems such as SAP/Oracle
