As the Buyer you will develop and assist in the management of the Outwork Purchasing process. You'll achieve cost reductions by reducing total supply chain costs, and to assist in the creation of a professional Purchasing Team that manages all costs in a professional, controlled manner.

Leading provider of Secure and Essential Communication Solutions. Divided into two specialist divisions; Secure Solutions and Essential Comms, they have four secure locations throughout the UK, over 500 employees and is trusted by many leading organisations.

  • Project management, leading and facilitating the successful delivery of major projects connecting internal and multi supplier activities, whilst maintaining client focus and communication
  • Collaborate with product design to maximise commercial opportunities both internally and via our external supply chain
  • Improve customer service by improving stock availability and lead-time reduction: the support of a low cost agile supply chain that delivers our needs and continually innovates
  • Ensure that all supplier agreements are in accordance with best practice
  • Where applicable to visit and / or meet with suppliers providing technical support as applicable
  • Deploy and implement Purchasing strategies and tactics
  • Apply the appropriate e-procurement tools as necessary
  • Engage in contract negotiation and implementation of digital communication requirements
  • Conduct vendor audits and evaluations
  • Proactively identify opportunities to increase services provided to clients and prospects in order to maximise profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Participate in regular and ad-hoc customer / internal meetings, both on-site and at the premises of customers and suppliers as necessary
  • Gather and provide information for processing and monitoring of appropriate supplier and customer SLAs

  • Knowledge of Print supply chain
  • Experience or knowledge of New Media (Digital Communications) supply chain is advantageous
  • Negotiation skills
  • Print experience
  • Supply Chain background ideal
  • Negotiation experience with suppliers and customers
  • Professional qualification or equivalent is desirable
  • Extensive experience within a Purchasing environment in the print industry
  • Print supply chain knowledge
  • MCIPS is desirable however not essential providing a proven knowledge of procurement practice can be demonstrated
