Public Sector Procurement and Contracts Manager

Your new role
This is a excellent position if you have a passion for man management and really want to influence and develop your team. With clear business objectives set, you will encourage collaborative working and using your expert negotiation skills, work with your stakeholders to achieve value for money at every opportunity.

You and your team of two will confidently work on both indirect and direct materials and services. Reporting into the Financial Director you will manage the strategic approach within the business whilst being able to manage the operational side. This will also include ensuring compliance with Contract Regulations and all relevant legislation, ensuring value for money and developing / maintaining the Contract Register and other third party expenditure information.

Working towards the Corporate Procurement Strategy and its delivery you will build and add value to your supply chain, suppliers and partner organisations, taking every opportunity to improve and simplify process and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be success in this position you will have sound experience in the cradle to grave process working within OJEU, which will be clearly visible on your CV. This will be in either an indirect or direct field but having strong tender experience is essential.

As a highly influential role within the business you will be confident working with senior stakeholders and have a background of operating at a strategic level.

Other experience needed:
  • Extensive experience of designing and leading tenders and sourcing processes across a diverse range of different spend categories within the public sector.
  • Able to operate at a strategic level giving considered commercial advice to support longer term planning of third party spend
  • Excellent working knowledge of different OJEU tender processes including negotiation and competitive dialogue Knowledge of specialist contracts and able to advise on suitable commercial terms relevant to a range of different contracts
  • Resourceful and able to think outside the box on the design and delivery models that enable appropriate commercial agreements to be put in place.
  • Excellent report writing and analytical skills Excellent communication and negotiation skills with both suppliers, supply chains and stakeholders
