An exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking and fast paced travel operator, supporting their Procurement and Contracts team implement P2P systems and deliver low risk procurements. The successful candidate will have basic knowledge of P2P systems and experience within supplier management.

Client Details

A dynamic and progressive transport company, employing over 6000 people across the UK.


  • Manage and update the contract database (online and hard copy), contract extensions and variations including tendering low risk events through to award.
  • Provide and maintain financial reporting of spend with suppliers and departments, supporting the development of enhanced vendor management by category/service delivery.
  • Support the team to ensure efficient and economic application of the procurement process and systems.
  • Support new supplier selection, creation and amendments as well as assisting in the delivery and cover for the P2P process.
  • Own, maintain and develop the contract database
  • Manage spend data and activity reports for the business areas
  • Timely forecasting and distribution of contract extension management including negotiating of such with suppliers
  • Review of contract services and align with the business needs, engaging Stakeholders (Business & Procurement) in a timely fashion
  • Own & Maintain contract forms and templates
  • Support Supplier creation processes and the successful delivery of the P2P including catalogues
  • Identify new low risk contract opportunities and create strategies- tender and award agreements in line with Procurement Policy


  • Experience of purchasing systems and procure to pay processes
  • Evidence of analysing data and maintaining database(s)
  • Tendering, negotiation and reporting is preferable
  • Experience of rail or similar transport industry (not essential)
  • Part qualified and working towards membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) desirable or willing to undertake the qualification
  • Working knowledge of financial systems (Oracle)
  • Some knowledge of legal and government legislation
  • Contract Database management/reporting desirable
  • Good interpersonal and people management skills
  • Well-developed written and verbal presentation skills
  • Strong IT skills including use of Excel, Word & Powerpoint

Job Offer
  • Basic salary £30,000-40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
