Job Description

Work location will be split between Folsom and Rocklin, California.

Contract: 1 - 2 year duration.

Our client seeking a Procurement Assistant who is independent, flexible, articulate and has some knowledge around large procurement projects and RFP development.

Qualified candidate will work with the client project manager in managing the Consulting RFP developer. The RFP is to develop Maintenance and Operation (M&O) of existing systems that include large on-line application systems, case management, etc.

Our client is seeking a procurement assistant for a project involving the development and implementation of a Request for Proposal for Maintenance and Operations (M&O) services of enterprise-wide systems.  An opportunity exists to the right individual to work in this challenging environment.

The Procurement Assistant is accountable to the Administrative Services Deputy for providing assistance with the Procurement Assistance Consultant Project.  This position will assist in ensuring successful completion of all activities within the timeframes established.  The Procurement Assistant may also be involved during the transition period should a change in M&O Services Vendor occur. 

Procurement Assistant will assist the Manager with day-to-day operational aspects of the development and implementation of a large-scale competitive procurement process for maintenance and operations services.  The Assistant will work in establishing project processes and procedures, monitoring the project work plan, and review and provide comments on deliverables.  In addition, the Assistant will work collaboratively with Consultant, state and counties in developing a Request for Proposal, monitor changes to project scope and schedules and identify and escalate issues or risks in a timely fashion.  The Assistant will help to ensure Client has a significant level of transparency and visibility into Consultant's activities in relation to the Client systems procurement.  Also, the Assistant will communicate effectively with all levels of the organization including the Consultant, Client management, counties and state agencies.  Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately and complete other work as requested.

Required Experience:
Five years of experience working on procurement activities including experience with contract administration.  Possess a bachelor's degree in business or public administration or related field.  Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.  Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software. 

Other:
Procurement Assistant will be handling confidential or trade secret information and is required to sign a confidentiality agreement which provisions will last beyond the termination of the position.  Applicant will be required to pass a background check.  Location of position will be split between Folsom and Rocklin.
