Procurement Business Manager required for Merthyr based Central Government Services provider

As a Procurement Business Manager you will:
  • Proactively plan and manage allocated procurement work for specific customers ensuring compliance with procurement and customer schedules.
  • Drive, manage and analyse comprehensive and complex data gathering on products and suppliers to support portfolio and category analysis, informing and presenting possible procurement options
  • Advises customers on procurement costs, with responsibility for purchasing goods/services for the relevant customer
  • Ensures on-going implementation of procurement principles and practice and that contract management and supplier liaison is maintained
  • Identifies immediate and future requirements of the customer
  • Ensure procurement principles and policies are implemented within the relevant Organisation and own practice. This will require ongoing discussions which are sensitive to requirements ensuring they fully understand the relevant technical complexities and legalities. This may require the post holder to influence and educate customers.
  • Works effectively within his/her team and with other Procurement Business Managers and Procurement Specialists to share relevant information
  • Responsible for day to day management of Procurement Business Officers and Buyers
  • Establishes and supports/undertakes development activity to improve professional expertise within their team
  • Demonstrates inclusive and collaborative behaviour in day to day activity Delivers/Supports Procurement Strategy
  • Assist and inputs in the detailed procurement planning within overall strategy • Works to integrate local purchasing within category management Inputs and supports local purchasing activity ensuring that customer requirements are met
  • Act as lead for in specific procurement area as required based on customer requirements.
  • Create and maintain contract and work programme using
  • Project Management software and contract management system softwarE Contract Development and Compliance
  • Maximises use of National collaborative
  • Contracts Implements procurement action in full accordance with law and environmental requirements Seeks new sources of supply to ensure that purchasing remains cost effective
  • Negotiates with suppliers regarding tendering for new contracts and re-negotiation with existing contracts

This is a temporary full time role paying £14.30 an hour and will initially run until 31st March 2019. There is a chance this role could become permanent for the right candidate.
