Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for day to day procurement activities for the business including raising purchase orders for goods and services and daily liaison with suppliers and business users.

My client is a leading Rail organisation based in the North West, who are looking to add a talented and passionate Procurement coordinator to the team.


The Role

The successful candidate will be required to raise purchase orders via the SAP system for the purchase of goods and services, ensuring they go through the work flow system smoothly.
  • Having a good eye for detail,
  • You will be responsible for obtaining quotations and issuing tenders for a wide range of goods and services.
  • You must have the ability to prepare professional documents
  • To review and present data
  • Have the ability to negotiate with suppliers
  • To be able to compile reports and KPIs.


The Person

We are looking for someone who is an enthusiastic and motivated individual, who can display a passion for their work and has a natural ability to communicate with colleagues and suppliers alike.
  • The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate previous procurement experience
  • Be either part CIPS qualified or willing to study towards
  • You must have experience of working with SAP
  • Along with excellent IT skills
  • Including a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Keen to develop within an experienced team
  • Motivated and dynamic
  • OJEU experience desirable but not essential
  • You must have excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable in liaising daily with key suppliers by email, telephone and face to face;
  • Maintaining good working relationships with suppliers is vital to the success of the role.
  • Any issues or complaints will be raised promptly and you will be required to ensure they are resolved mutually
  • Ideally proven negotiation skills are a must as you will be required to source products and services ensuring best price and service are obtained every time.
  • The role will also require you to source and vet new suppliers when required.

Job Offer

The Offer

My client is looking to pay a base salary of up to £30k plus a competitive salary for the ideal candidate.
