An exciting opportunity for an ambitious and motivated procurement manager. Managing a team initially of three, the right person has potential to develop the role into a head of procurement as the business develops. The role forms a key part of the companies strategy to reduce costs in its supply chain through negotiation with current suppliers, product redevelopment and low cost sourcing.

Client Details

A highly ambitious company operating in the security solutions to a number of high-profile companies and government departments.


  • Define a commodity-based procurement strategy which optimises the cost of procured goods whilst maintaining excellent standards of supplier performance and product quality

  • Evaluate and control purchase requisitions to hold optimum inventory required to achieve production programme. This includes considering and defining order policies, order quantities, safety stock, minimums and maximums

  • Responsible for new supplier selection processes, including RFIs and RFPs, as well as maintaining relationships with existing suppliers to ensure that goods arrive on time, in full and on quality

  • Build internal relationships with the key internal stakeholders to develop and communicate the procurement strategy and report on results

  • Define, develop and implement contractual relationships with suppliers, ensuring that appropriate and auditable standards, controls and governance frameworks are in place

  • Risk assess supply chain and implement risk reduction strategies

  • Manage an outsourcing strategy that helps the business to minimise overall company operational gearing and make maximum use of the company’s assets


This role would be suitable to a candidate who is looking to make a real difference and be part of an exciting journey through a period of growth:

  • Be able to quickly define a strategy in order to meet cost, inventory level, supplier performance and quality targets

  • Possess excellent stakeholder management skills and will have proven track record of leading successful negotiations

  • Show a clear track record of innovation and being able to think outside of the box in a commercial role
  • MCIPS qualified

  • Formal Lean and other project management training is desirable

Job Offer

Salary range is from £50,000 to £70,000 with incentives within the package.
