About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join the Head Office services Procurement team.  This role will be managing a broad and diverse stakeholder and supply base.  You will be involved in and leading the end to end procurement of business critical services including a range of professional services both for the UK business and across the Group and business entities.  The range of categories will include a range of categories across Head Office services which may include Travel, Recruitment, Insurance and Legal services.  Procurement are a key function, working in partnership with the business and supply base to build plans and deliver cost efficiencies in line with Tesco's strategic priorities.  A great time to join the Head Office services team.  There is an opportunity to grow within the business with your stakeholders and the Head Office services Procurement team.

You will be responsible for

Developing and implementing the Procurement plans for the products/services I support
Developing strong working relationships with the stakeholder base (internally and external suppliers) to understand and influence requirements
Demonstrating effective behaviours in conducting commercial negotiations that will help generate positive outcomes 
Writing and delivering a procurement plan
Controlling the business spend through improved use of tools and processes
Sourcing potential new suppliers and assess their sustainability to supply Tesco, minimising risk and optimising service.
Enhancing existing supplier relationships to ensure continued suitability and creating greater value
Consolidating supplier volumes in order to create a manageable category
Continually assessing and reviewing the supply base to manage total cost, quality and availability
Assisting in the development of the functional operating model for the product category 
Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence
Developing and leading a high performing team, giving them the opportunities to be their best

You will need

Operational, Retail, Distribution background
Procurement / buying experience
Managing contracts
Experience of change management and project management
Cross functional working and stakeholder engagement
Negotiation skills
Supplier relationship and performance management
Category Planning
MS Office
Commercial acumen
Contract management
Development of self, high standards of personal ethic
