You have great experience in strategic procurement preferably across multiple categories and of leading a team to success. You should have strong commercial skills and love to deal with stakeholders at all levels of a business. You excel at setting priorities in order to meet tight deadlines yet are also able to operate in a flexible manner and use your initiative to complete work. Specifically, you will be responsible for the following accountabilities:
  • Attend regular meetings with senior stakeholders to define business strategy and have an influence in key business decisions.
  • Align local, regional and global sourcing plans and influence internal stakeholders to deploy global initiatives.
  • Utilise your excellent industry and category knowledge to anticipate business needs and create new sourcing strategies.
  • Connect with the outside world and promote innovation by applying a solid framework with suppliers.
  • Plan out long term opportunities, address risks and contribute to PMI’s regional and local strategy definition and include global and regional sourcing strategies in local plans.
  • Utilise your negotiation skills and style to drive business needs and proactively build levers.
  • Align with stakeholders to achieve negotiation outcomes and anticipate results.
  • Coordinate and steer critical negotiations and lead complex ones.
  • Occasionally work with legal templates, interpret them and be able to advise colleague and stakeholders on the impact of clauses for contracting.
  • For non-critical services or goods, correctly balance the usage of customized contractual frameworks versus Purchase Orders to meet Company objectives of speed and time-to-market.
  • Segment the supply base and establish different types of supplier relationships based on defined criteria.
  • Define and manage escalation models to manage the aforementioned supplier relationships and work with key suppliers on value creation and risk reduction.
  • Encourage a lean way of working and ensure effective transfer of non-core procurement sourcing processes to shared-services teams.
  • Work to understand how various functional process interact with one another and recommend improvements where applicable.
  • Implement key control measures and KPI’s to ensure efficiency within company procurement at market level.
  • Increase your team’s performance by setting clear objectives, review achievements, assess individual training needs and provide developmental opportunities.
  • Ensure an effective & efficient integration and engagement with remote teams.

  • University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent;
  • MBA degree or equivalent is advantageous;
  • A qualification from a recognised Procurement institute or professional body (e.g. CIPS) is an asset;
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement at a strategic level, preferably across categories, in multinational environment, preferably within a FMCG company;
  • Solid people management experience; and
  • You have a strong knowledge of SAP plus Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook).
