Procurement Manager

The Organisation

This company are situated at the high end of the hospitality sector with several sites around the London/ Surrey area. Due to significant investment they on course to continue a stream of aggressive growth potentially doubling in size thus making this an exciting time for right person to join this organisation.

Job Role

The Procurement Manager is responsible for ensuring that the company has a clear strategy when purchasing goods and services. Working closely with various operations managers across different categories, the Procurement Manager will set policies for purchasing that will take into account budgets, stock requirements and skills required. The main focus area will be management of the general procurement across the group of care homes, which includes areas such as Hospitality and Catering, Uniforms, Office Suppliers, Waste Management and other indirects.

Other area of responsibility for this role include:

  • Works with key business partners, and develops sourcing and procurement plans that align corporate objectives to business needs
  • Develops and supports initiatives to provide consistency and standards, leverage supply relationships across the business and control total costs.
  • Identifies, sources, negotiates, and implements sourcing and procurement cost saving opportunities to the company in multiple categories of spend.
  • Establishes and communicates purchasing policies and guidelines that effectively balance administrative burden, cost savings, and risk/liability.
  • Manages corporate and group-wide supplier programs, source and select suppliers, negotiate commercial agreements and implementation strategies for programs.
  • Develops new approaches for systematic purchasing that will lower administrative burdens, add accountability and support and efficient and effective business process.
  • Lead developing standard purchasing contracts and modifying terms and conditions in order to create the most advantageous agreements.
  • Conducts supplier reviews and audits to ensure compliance with agreed SLAs.
  • Establish relevant dashboards, supplier and performance reporting for business partners and senior management.

Criteria Qualifications & Experience

The successful applicant will have experience in a similar role in a multi-site environment. This person would also have an excellent track record in engaging and influencing key stakeholders. Other attributes include, but not limited to;

  • Professional approach, coupled with strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to work in, and adapt to a changing environment
  • Talent in negotiation with exceptional networking and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of supplier or third-party management software
  • Experience in decision making and analysing data
  • Ability to work co-operatively with others to complete tasks and implement process improvements
