Temporary Procurement Officer vacancy within a Public sector organisation.

Your new company
Our client, a public sector organisation located in Antrim, are recruiting an experienced Procurement Officer with a minimum of two years experience and a degree in management or business or relevant qualification in CIPS. In the absence of a degree candidates must have a minimum of 5 years procurement experience as well as experience in managing staff.

Your new role
This is a temporary position with a potential to go permanent for the successful applicant.
Liaising with Directors and key stakeholders to implement value for money procurement solutions and Supply Chain best practice
Liaise with staff and customers to ensure that Operational Service and budget agreement targets are consistency achieved
Supporting the Manager in providing a cost effective procurement service and in developing that service to meet future needs and trends
Ensuring optimum value for money is achieved in goods purchased, ensuring through effective management that staff comply with all relevant policies and legislation
Lead and participate in development and negotiations with key customers and suppliers
Collaborate with team members to ensure negotiation of regional procurement opportunities
Contribute to the promotion and implementation of e-commerce solutions as appropriate

What you'll need to succeed
2 years procurement experience with a business or management degree or relevant qualification such as full membership of CIPS or CILT (OR in the absence of a degree 5 years experience with staff management experience)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to maintain and improve services whilst continuously improving customer service
Candidates must be familiar with all aspects of contracting and specifically Public Contracts Regulations 2015
Experience in negotiating with commercial suppliers
