The Procurement Officer will support the Procurement Manager and wider business in connection with the procurement of goods and services as part of their responsibilities taking into account existing legislation, regulations, other statutory requirements, project management and wider business operations.

My client is a leading student accommodation organisation who have built their reputation on service created through strong partnerships and your role is to ensure that we maintain that service ethos as the company expands


The Role

  • Implementation and on-going maintenance of new ERP system (procurement element).
  • Responsibility for operational tenders and cost bench marking exercises.
  • Work closely with accounts payable manager to ensure relationships with suppliers are effectively managed
  • Development of a contract database.
  • Data Analysis
  • Contract management support duties
  • Supplier due diligence checks
  • Preparation of monthly reporting
  • Support the development of e-sourcing facility
  • Monitoring of volume rebates/banding discounts
  • Work with other departments to develop standard specification of requirements.
  • Support site general managers on transnational spend
  • Administer new supplier requests
  • Effective planning and organising of time and tasks in line with needs of the business.
  • Adherence to reporting deadlines.


The Candidate

  • Ideally be part or fully CIPS qualified.
  • Degree educated or equivalent.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Experience of maintaining ERP systems.
  • Thorough understanding of the P2P process.
  • Ability to take responsibility for the day-to-day office support service delivery.
  • A basic understanding of applicable legislation
  • Awareness of a range of evaluation techniques
  • A basic knowledge of competitive exercises
  • The ability to analyse data in a meaningful manner
  • Methodical and logical thinker
  • Strong activity ownership – seeks responsibility/accountability to deliver goals
  • Good relationship management skills – able to present themselves and the company in a professional manner to internal and external colleagues and stakeholders
  • Excellent ability to problem solve and multi task
  • A self-motivated, enthusiastic and professional individual with a drive to develop a career in procurement.

Job Offer

My client is offering a salary of up to £30k for the ideal candidate plus a competitive package.
