An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a highly professional procurement team for leading NI company based in Belfast, initially on a 12-18 month contract to cover maternity leave with opportunity to progress further upon performance or even into a permanent role. This specialist company are known for excellence on local customer service and regarded as an employer of choice, so an unique chance to start your career with a successful business.

Your new role
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will have responsibility over a set portfolio of services, materials and contracts to ensure the best possible commercial outcomes are delivered through strategic procurement initiatives. The Procurement Officer will prepare tender enquiry documents, tender analysts, lead negotiations with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing whilst utilising e-procurement software. Also, you will develop professional relationships with suppliers, produce written reports and contract recommendations on a weekly basis.

What you'll need to succeed
Your degree or equivalent and post qualification experience in a procurement/purchasing role along with knowledge of the NI public sector, civil engineering or manufacturing environment will lead to success. You will be able to prepare tender specifications and price analysis using e-procurement software and be a strong communicator with ability to develop relationships with external suppliers. Also, working towards or having full CIPS qualification is desirable but not essential.
