ABOUT BURBERRY BUSINESS SERVICES

Burberry is opening a brand new Shared Service Centre - Burberry Business Services, based in Leeds at their stunning new premises in the heart of the City Centre. This Centre of Excellence will be an extension of their Head Office in London and house core functions; HR, Finance, Procurement, Customer Services and I.T. helpdesk.

JOB PURPOSE

The Procurement Systems Administrator will sit within the Commercial Procurement Team, they will help to define key processes and drive the rollout and adoption of procurement systems across the business, including Ariba Sourcing, Contract Management and Guided Buying (P2O). They will help to ensure compliance and best practices and will act as a subject matter expert on the Ariba system and processes, proactively identifying and implementing process and system improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analytics Support (reporting)
  • Design the internal, external data and insight needs for the Commercial Procurement team
  • Supporting the operations and compliance activities, including contract management
  • Supporting the category senior managers
  • Responsible for creating the global functional KPI and reporting suite, and scheduling its flow to drive functional business performance
  • Review and ensure accuracy of report data
  • Consolidate and distribute reports to customers
  • Tracking the pipeline of commercial procurement projects and validating savings with the business and finance partners
  • Partnering with external experts to provide critical insight to support business decisions, benchmarks and RFP/tender processes – for example, partnering with a Media Auditor to conduct Media savings audits, and billing accuracy reports – driving direct commercial benefit
  • Define the global spend management information strategy (spend analytics) – including segmentation and supplier profiling – driving insight
  • Be the link to IT and Business Intelligence team to ensure systems drive the necessary efficiency to underpin the data and insight strategy
  • Promote the use of data and insight to drive commercial value across the team
  • Preparing reports and providing reports to Senior Managers and Executives including supporting ad hoc requests
  • To drive a simplification agenda across the global business looking for operational efficiency
  • To coach the procurement team members on the power of commercial data and insight
  • Policy Setting & Interpretation support
  • Receive and confirm new request for policy changes and drive the overall process
  • Draft initial version of policy changes / new policy for review

PERSONAL PROFILE
  • Ability to take ownership of the completion of discrete tasks as well as identifying issues and potential resolution as part of the completion
  • Superior ability to communicate both orally and in writing
  • Excellent business and interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate knowledge and speak with subject matter experts internally and externally
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks error free, with limited supervision and within agreed timeline
  • Versatility, resilience and ability to perform strongly in a changing environment.
  • Ability to adopt a customer-centric approach ensuring that the business stakeholders are satisfied with the service delivered
  • Well-developed stakeholder management skills
  • Procurement or Finance qualifications preferred (CIPS/CIMA)
  • In depth SAP skills or other major ERP or sourcing systems (e.g. Ariba)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to inspire trust and confidence
  • Proven success in managing, organizing, and/or completing multiple tasks and priorities
  • History of managing and being managed to targeted results
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Powerpoint required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial analysis, purchasing or strategic sourcing preferred
  • An understanding of the Source to Settle business process
  • Proven experience in developing a data and insight strategy for commercial benefits
  • Good knowledge of procurement concepts, processes and techniques including commercial contracts negotiation skills and relationship management
