Forward thinking and innovative manufacturer with a base in Taunton seeks skilled Product Specialist for new role.

Your new role

Reporting to the Technical Director the Product Specialist will work closely with the Engineering, Quality and Production team at our UK Manufacturing site to design and develop harmonised production processes for customised data center products

• Work with engineering, sales and with customers as needed to develop customised products tailored to their requirements and assist sales in generating a quotation.
• Create product CAD drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams along with other technical support documentation as needed.
• Generate and maintain Bill of Materials in ERP system.
• Develop and maintain harmonised production process for custom products, taking into consideration geographic location of production, availability and cost of source materials, and custom product requirements.
• Communicate and implement production process for relevant factory using assembly documentation packets.
• Design components and assemblies using CAD software, including AutoCAD and Solidworks.
• Create component and assembly drawings in the Company format for components, perform revisions as necessary, assign numbers to changes and prepare new/updated packages for approval.
• Work with the Manufacturing, and Engineers to implement all requirements on drawings, and support development of control plans.
• Assist Engineers in design for manufacturing and overall good design practices.
• Adhere to Health and Safety standards
• Perform additional duties in line with capability and business requirements

What you'll need to succeed

• Ability to use industry standard CAD Software
• Electrical/Mechanical design experience
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment
• Competent in MS Office
• Ability to communicate complex information
• Resourceful problem solver
• Accuracy and detail orientated
• Highly motivated with an excellent work ethic
