The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and scheduling of all resources [People, Materials, Labour & Machinery] on the shop floor in their department ensuring products are manufactured in an efficient and effective manner to the demands of the business



Client Details



The client who I am currently representing are capable of delivering a fully integrated service. They currently handle the joinery and metalwork fabrication requirements of some of the biggest names in the retail, banking, catering and rail sectors. Based in Sheffield, they are looking for a production planner to join their already well-established team.











Description

The successful Production Planner will be responsible for the following.

  • To be a working operative when demand or business needs dictate or when other duties allow.
  • Ensure all shop floor staff are operating at an optimal level, individually and as a team, delivering in line with the needs of the ‘Works Orders’ and ‘Work To’ list.
  • Accurately plan and schedule all available resources ensuring delivery targets are always achieved.
  • Constantly measure progress against plan managing any deviations to plan so delivery commitments are not compromised.
  • Employ the detailed ‘work to’ lists based on capacity capability for each work centre and seek support if problems are encountered.
  • Positively interact with all departments as necessary to ensure successful delivery of products/projects.
  • Communicate all relevant information to members of your department in a constructive and positive manner.
  • Take a proactive approach to obtaining any missing or incomplete information
  • Feedback any flaws in the system, incorrect data on BoM or routings by way of CI and ensure corrective action is completed

Profile

The successful candidate for the of Production Planner will have previous experience scheduling in plans for an industrial and manufacturing environment. MRP / ERP experience.
