Production Planning Manager needed for new role with global manufacturer with site in Somerset

Your new company

Leading International manufacturing business with a site in Somerset seeks experienced Production Planning Manager to manage the day to day manufacturing operations of the business and contribute to the development of the company's manufacturing strategy.

Your new role

As Production Planning Manager your day to day responsibility will be to create and maintain production plans to satisfy customer demand. You will also be assisting the strategic development of the organisation by rolling out new initiatives to improve efficiency and production.

The role involves translating customer forecasts, capacity planning and sequencing productions to ensure efficient running orders, whilst always meeting customer expectations. You will also be involved in continuous improvement projects, using your expertise to recommend/ implement where improvements can be made.

Your duties will include:
  • Capacity Planning
  • Forecasting
  • Regular review of production processes
  • Targeting wastage minimisation
  • Maintaining OTIF levels
  • Liaising with logistics departments for goods outwards
  • Producing plans for future improvement

What you'll need to succeed

Previous planning experience, ideally within a high volume, fast paced FMCG environment. Advanced excel skills along with strong communication skills will also be an advantage.
