Temporary Programme Management Officer required for public sector organisation in Portsmouth £14.50 - £19.50

A public sector organisation based in the Portsmouth area is looking for a Programme Management Officer to provide PMO function management skills to ensure that all aspects of the PMO operate to their capabilities i.e. Grip and Control and the discipline of capturing, updating and reporting the prescribed data on all proposals and agreed saving schemes.

You will be responsible for designing, implementing and the maintenance of Project Initiation Documentation and any related processes as well as taking similar responsibility for the establishment if the organisations Cost Improvement programme tracker, providing regular updates and reporting on Progress, Values, KPI's and Risks.

Essential Experience:
  • Previous successful management experience, at a senior level in a large complex service organisation.
  • Proven successful track record in service improvement:
    • Leading and sustaining transformational change within a complex organisation;
    • Developing and translating business strategy into operational delivery
  • Managing operating budgets and delivering financial surplus;
  • Proven ability in performance management and development of staff.
  • Successful and sustained delivery of key operational performance standards.
  • Detailed understanding and experience of the operation of a large complex service organisation.
  • Evidence of successful implementation of robust business management processes to support a well governed service

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Demonstrate established negotiation skills in the management of conflict across a range of situations, including the resolution of complaints which may involve diffusion of hostility and aggression Innovative and responsive to change with an ability to facilitate change and set direction.
  • Capacity to build and develop teams, and maintain constructive working relationships at all levels and disciplines.
  • Proven track record of collaborative working with senior professionals and senior managers.
  • Positive and optimistic, displaying confidence and exhibiting a presence and vision.
  • Well organised and creative.
  • Ability to achieve demanding tasks and objectives against deadlines.
  • Integrity and a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness.
  • Exemplary personal standard of conduct and behavior and ability to act as a role model encouraging others to value and respect staff and stakeholders
