I am looking for a skilled Buyer with stores experience to manage the purchasing process and stores function of this growing business. This is a brand new opportunity which will present you with the chance to take on more responsibility and develop your skills within supply chain.

Client Details

I've been given the opportunity to work exclusively with a family owned business which has spent up to 50 years as one of the UK's leading equipment suppliers. Based in Sheffield, they are looking for an experienced Buyer who will be responsible for the entire purchasing and stores function.

Description

As the Purchasing & Stores Manager you will be responsible for the following;
  • Pro-actively monitor spend and savings and report to management
  • Use the tender process to select the most compliant and cost effective sources for the business, ensuring quality and performance guarantees
  • Produce, maintain and monitor supply agreements
  • Manage Supplier Performance
  • Manage stock levels, implement stock control measures and carry out regular stock inventory checks
  • Communicate with suppliers and internal customers in a timely and accurate manner
  • Deal with waste carriers
  • Oversee goods inwards and dispatch
  • Supervision of stores employees
  • Ensure that all storage areas comply with Health & Safety requirements



Profile

The successful candidate for the Purchasing & Stores Manager will ideally have the following key skills and responsibilities;

  • Previous experience purchasing within an industrial environment

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Computer literate

  • Supervisory experience

  • The ability to be pro-active and able to cope with pace and change

  • Team player
