To provide administrative support to the Purchasing Department; Placing orders with suppliers and ensuring that deliveries adhere to the correct time plan and are expedited accordingly.



Client Details

A supplier to the automotive Industry.

Description

  • Submitting RFQs to suppliers for new and existing products. Obtaining pricing, lead time and MOQ information and calculating replacement price costs for Sales Team. Also working with Technical Team on more complex enquiries.
  • Evaluating and setting up new suppliers.
  • Creating new part number requests, ensuring the Technical Team have accurate and complete information to upload onto database.
  • Initiating and following up part change requests to successfully transfer stock and supply.
  • Logging commodity data.
  • Liaising with suppliers to ensure they understand our requirements.
  • Placing, amending and cancelling POs and subcontract orders.
  • Updating the POR register with information on special products.
  • Signing off order confirmations and proforma invoices.
  • Monitoring system reports and ensuring data is accurate.
  • Organising all road, air and sea freight transportation for imports.
  • Arranging spot buys.
  • Running routine order book comparisons with suppliers.
  • Reviewing critical shortage report.
  • Resolving invoice queries.
  • Obtaining advance shipping notifications for pending deliveries.
  • Maintaining accuracy of data and information within internal systems, including price changes.
  • Ad-hoc reporting / project work.





Profile

  • Education: Essential GCSE ‘C’ or above Maths & English, A Levels desirable.
  • Specialised knowledge
  • Skills: MS Office, with excellent MS Excel skills
  • Abilities: Prioritising heavy workload, able to multi-task, work to tight deadlines, commercial thinking, produce accurate information.
  • Other characteristics such as personal characteristics confident, flexible, friendly with can-do attitude.
  • Professional Certification: A business related qualification would be beneficial.
  • Ideally 1yr experience in a purchasing role and proven track record in a fast paced commercial environment.





Job Offer

Competitive Package. Salary will rise to £19,500 upon successful 6 month probation review.
