Due to continuous growth the client I am currently representing have asked me to recruit a Purchasing Controller to strengthen their department and support the high increase of customer demand. This role will give you the opportunity to develop your purchasing skills in a fast moving environment

Client Details

The client I am currently working with have established themselves on the market as a highly professional company who put the customer first. Working with some of the biggest retailers in the UK, they continue to lead the market by heavily investing into their design team and staying ahead of their competitors. After winning over a number of businesses they have seen a huge increase in customer demand and as a result are now looking to strengthen their purchasing team.

Description

As the Purchasing Controller you will be responsible for the following.
  • Responsible for placing new and repeat International Purchase Orders in line with customer requirements with the assistance of the Purchasing/ Stock Control Manager, General Manager, and Purchasing Director.

  • Directly responsible for the placement of Purchase Orders and Stock Control for several customers

  • Responsible for liaising closely with Hong Kong and China offices.

  • Assisting in the maintenance of various purchasing reports.

  • Arranging frequent Outships meetings with relevant Sales members.

  • Co-ordinating and communicating the progress of Purchase Orders to relevant departments highlighting any problems or late shipments.

  • Responsible with regards to the relevant customer orders for liaising closely with QA/ Product Development and Sales personnel to help ensure all labelling/ packaging specifications have been sent to suppliers on time, and that relevant samples have been approved.

  • Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of accurate and up to date product/ price information on Sage, Stock Management/ PMS and other relevant spread sheets.

  • Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of accurate and up to date records relating to all aspects of the purchasing function within an organised filing system.

  • Assisting and providing cover for the Purchasing/ Stock control Manager and other purchasing personnel in the course of their day to day duties and in performing other specific tasks/ duties which may from time to time be given.

  • Responsible in conjunction with the Purchasing/ Stock Control Manager for the stock control of all those customer stocks referred to in part

  • Assisting in the maintenance if accurate and up to date Purchasing Information on the Sage and Stock Management/ PMS computer systems.

  • Responsible for assisting in the production of detailed and accurate Stock Reports and information for relevant departments within the company and Candlelight customers.

  • Assisting in the follow up of all Stock Checks to ensure that all discrepancies are thoroughly investigated.



Profile

The successful candidate for the Purchasing Controller role will ideally have some of the following key skills and qualities:
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Previous experience within a stockist and distributor
  • An understanding of purchasing processes
  • Previously dealt with the Far East
  • A good understanding of Excel
  • Good numerical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • An understanding of stock control
