Do you have experience purchasing consumables/cleaning/uniform/equipment? Have you worked in an organisation covering procurement for multiple sites (stores, hotels, clinics, offices etc)?

Client Details

Our client is a business that provides procurement services for the public sector. The footprint of the organisation is huge (over 3,000 sites in the UK) - and it will keep growing! They are developing their procurement strategy and reviewing the scope of their current activities. As part of that, they now need a Purchasing Manager to come on board to develop and execute their strategy for consumables/cleaning/uniforms/equipment across all sites.

Description

The Purchasing Manager will:
  • Lead, coach and develop a small team of Buyers
  • Work with the procurement leadership team to define the central strategy for this category
  • Execute the strategy, with a real focus on reliability of supply and cost
  • Work to develop an inventory management process, so better track the goods/assure best possible availability and to identify areas for inventory savings
  • Support the wider procurement function to develop best in class processes

Profile

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Experience of consumables/cleaning/uniforms/equipment procurement
  • Exposure to the private sector (ideally)
  • An understanding of the pressures of working in a high volume, multi-site operation (e.g. stores, hotels, restaurants, clinics, offices)
  • Line management experience
  • Exceptional stakeholder management

Job Offer

The successful candidate will earn £40k-£47k, dependent on experience, plus an attractive benefits package.
