Purchasing Manager, Engineering/Manufacturing, £30,000+

Your new company
You will be joining a fully established local Engineering business who distribute specialised and bespoke machinery to their rapidly growing customer base across the UK and Ireland with numerous global supplier contacts secured throughout the past few years. Due to new contract wins and organisational restructure, they are seeking an experienced Buyer to join and lead their Procurement function on a full time permanent basis.

Your new role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will source and procure engineering related materials from a set list of 50+ suppliers both local and across China, US and EU. The Purchasing Manager will manage the complete end-to-end supply chain process by maintaining relationships with suppliers, strategic outsourcing, purchasing and coordinating logistics. Also, you will use internal MRP systems to monitor inventory levels, liaise with all departments such as production, stores, finance etc and be involved with forecast planning for material demand.

What you'll need to succeed
Your previous 3-5 years' experience in a similar procurement role, excellent IT and strong negotiation skills will lead to success. Also, knowledge of managing logistics and using internal MRP for inventory control will be an advantage. Desired criteria includes having or working towards a CIPS qualification and evidence of successful global supplier negotiation to achieve a cost saving.

What you'll get in return
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work for a growing company who promote internal growth and career development. As this role is completely new for the business, you will have the chance to implement fresh new ideas and create a specialised purchasing team around you. Also, included with the package is an above average salary fully negotiable upon relevant experience.
