Our client, a leading third party logistics (3PL) provider, are looking for an experienced Regional General Manager to lead their growing Containers business unit in Suffolk.

Our client are a leading third party logistics (3PL) and supply chain solutions provider.

Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Build robust working relationships to work in collaboration with all other Regional General Managers and the Containers Network Manager to deliver value and excellence in all work undertaken for container customers.
  • As part of the senior leadership team, take responsibility for the delivery of all contractual KPI’s and SLA’s relating to Container customers.
  • Collaborate with Ops Director, Finance and Containers leadership team to plan annual budgets. Along with regular monitoring and delivery of agreed minimum financial targets monthly and quarterly.
  • Develop the knowledge and skills of the team, in order to retain talent and plan for future succession using own knowledge, Wincanton or wider resources.
  • Work with the Business Development Team and the Customer Service Team to continuously improve service, develop contracts and attract further future contracts of work
  • Forge excellent working partnerships with customers and collaborate regularly to deliver the most mutually beneficial and productive service possible.
  • Work in partnership with the Resource and Compliance team to continuously improve safety and create mechanisms to develop a ‘safety first’ culture.
  • Build excellent working relationships with all specialist teams, such as Health & Safety, IT & HR, in order to support the operations team and understand strategic changes and initiatives that may affect the Container business.

Profile

Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Ideally senior level management experience in a leading Container business at GM level and a consistent record in leading all aspects of a customer-led operation within a high-volume environment.
  • Will demonstrate a clear understanding of the cost implications of a large fleet and methodology required to minimise that expenditure, whilst getting the best value for money.
  • Will possess a background in operational haulage planning, preferably in the Container industry
  • CPC Qualified, preferably within a containers environment.
  • Expertise in the field of fleet health and safety and all the priorities and implications of such responsibility in the Container industry.
  • Must display open and honest communication and understand the skills and expertise of their team and their peers.
  • An ability to understand what motivates a team and drive employee engagement to deliver high performance throughout a team is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience of adapting operational plans to changing customer requirements whilst maintaining high performance and commercial benefit.
  • A solid operational background, with a clear understanding of the financial implications of all responsible areas. As well as knowledge of maintaining revenue and margin levels in a challenging and constantly evolving industry.
