Job Description

My client is one of the UK's leading brownfield redevelopment and engineering companies. Serving all areas of the construction industry including general construction, house builders, waste management and quarrying businesses their expertise lies in Consulting, Remediation, Demolition and Waste Management.

Due to a full order book and expansion plans our client is looking for a Senior buyer to join the procurement department. Your responsibilities will include devising and implementing procurement strategies upon the award of new contracts. Experience in taking off and scheduling is required as well as sourcing, negotiating, and placing of purchase orders for materials and plant hire as well as sub contract agreements. A high percentage of the annual spend is on plant hire, haulage, disposal and material procurement. Approximately 30% is sub-contract services and over 70% of the spend is under Preferred Supplier/Key Relationship agreements.
