A UK leading food provider seeks an FM procurement specialist to add to their growing procurement team. The company is going through a period of unprecedented growth, and they are now recognised as one of the UK’s leading brands. This growth will allow you the opportunity to accelerate your procurement career in one of the UK’s fastest growing organisations, whilst taking on a role that will give you an exceptional level of autonomy and control over a huge spend. In this role you will be seen as a role model for the entire FM procurement team, and you will be responsible for the long term success of the FM team.

The role is a strategic role that will draw on all elements of your FM expertise, from day one you will be playing an active role in both managing your team, whilst also taking major business decisions that will impact on the overall profitability of the organisation.

As a Senior Category Manager, you will be:
  • Responsible for the end to end procurement processes in the FM category, listening to stakeholder requirements and ensuring that you are providing a best in class service that reflects the brand you are working for
  • Taking the lead on large scale tenders well in excess of £100m, where successful negotiation of these contracts will have a major impact on the profitability of the entire business
  • Designing and implementing the overall FM procurement strategy, from the day to day running of the FM team, to national strategic decisions
  • Managing and mentoring the entire FM procurement team, ensuring the long term success of the whole procurement function
  • Working with key senior internal and external stakeholders to impact the overall procurement strategy at the highest level

As a Senior Category Manager, you will have:
  • Prior experience in procurement, specifically in the FM category
  • Commercial acumen
  • The confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and impact on their decision making
  • Excellent supplier relationship skills
  • A degree or equivalent (desired but not essential)
  • The drive to ensure the long term success of the FM procurement function
