Responsible for the total purchasing volume of the wiring commodity

Responsible for developing & implementing supplier & sourcing strategies within the commodity

Client Details

A leading Manufacturer within its field


Define & implement agreed Commodity & Supplier Strategy in alignment with divisional &Business Unit objectives.

Develop and implement material productivity programs/measures to achieve the maximum contribution to the savings targets.

Generate, document & implement Savings measures via reporting tools

Co-ordinate and manage cross-functional Supplier Performance Management Teams to achieve optimum Supplier Performance and Relationship Management through collaborative, targeted activities.

Define and implement advanced negotiation concepts and strategies to maximise savings whilst taking a Total Cost of ownership approach to Sourcing Decisions.

Negotiate Contracts (e.g. Supply Agreements, QAA, and Tooling & Royalty) Act as the escalation point for Quality and Non-Conformance cost claims and lead Claims Negotiations as required.

Identify particular procurement risks, opportunities and market forces to avoid potential damage/exploit potential opportunities through tailored risk management and change management.

Work closely with Product Management and Sales & Marketing teams to ensure early supplier involvement with regards to Innovation & Digitalisation opportunities to help shape the future product road-map.

Foster usage of e-Procurement tools (eRfX, e-Auction/e-Bidding); within assigned Commodities.

Ensure PVO transparency including correct ESN material coding and SAP data integrity is maintained. (Material Masters, Info-records and Source-lists)

Support & participation in Supplier Audits as required, act as escalation point for any subsequent Corrective action measures that are required.


Good knowledge of manufacturing processes relating to compression & injection moulding and metal stamping/pressing operations, as well as assembly processes relating to Wiring Accessory products.

Good knowledge of Contract Law

Good knowledge of LEAN techniques & processes.

Experience of dealing with international supply chains and to be aware of, and understand cultural differences is essential. Able to demonstrate ability to adapt behaviours accordingly.
