Your new company
South, Central & West CSU is one of the largest Commissioning Support Units in the country, and to support their clients they must be innovative and flexible, open to following their customer’s vision and looking at things in a new way. They collaborate with customers and partners across health and social care systems to manage, analyse, and improve performance and enable their customers to achieve the best possible outcomes for their service users.

Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) hold contracts with a wide range of different organisations who provide care to the local population, including NHS England, local authorities, foundation trusts, social enterprises, and other health related organisations. They use the Standard NHS Contract and NHS Tariff in most instances, although work is emerging in the development of novel NHS contracts. You will therefore be working with a diverse range of stakeholders, continually adapting your approach and learning about how to provide the best service to distinct customers.

Your new role
You will be responsible for Contract management and support to a portfolio of contracts. The role is primarily based in Windsor with regular travel to other CSU and CCG locations in Slough, Bracknell, Aldershot and Frimley. The key aspects of the role are performance and activity reporting, developing excellent relationships with customers, contract bench marking and dispute resolution.

As a Senior Contract Manager you will provide guidance on contract strategy and implement a commissioning and contracting framework to support the negotiation and management of all contracts. You will be responsible for contract negotiation and performance management to provide an expert and complete overview of provider performance, including contracted areas such as quality, cost and volume, as well as a focus on wider quality and assurance issues. You will provide and process complex sensitive and contentious information whilst fostering excellent relationships with Providers on behalf of the CCG.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have knowledge of commissioning, procurement, contracting and performance management either within the NHS or Public Services that has comparable complexity. It is also vital that you can demonstrate commercial skills, including experience in developing strategic supplier relationships, marketing testing, tendering and joint improvement. The successful candidate will be expected to have excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills and highly developed political skills. It is also essential to possess strong analytical skills and the ability to draw conclusions from combinations of complex qualitative and quantitative information and present in a concise manner. As this role will include travel every month to certain sites you will need to have a car and of course this will be expensed.

What you'll get in return
SCW CSU provides a strong and comprehensive benefits package, which will support your salary and allow you to maintain a genuine work-life balance. The full package includes:
  • Defined benefits NHS pension scheme
  • training & career development policy
  • generous annual leave allowance
  • generous maternity, paternity and adoption pay
  • childcare vouchers
  • occupational health service
