To lead, manage and motivate the inventory planning team to produce highly effective inventory plans to deliver market leading product availability, inventory targets and cost KPIs.



Client Details

My client is a leading blue chip organisation based in warwickshire

Description

  • Management of circa 20k skus, annual purchase value of £400m over 700 suppliers and inventory value of £70m



  • Lead and manage the Inventory Planning team of 5-6 direct reports, ensuring all processes are operated consistently and to a high level of quality



  • Develop and execute safety stock and replenishment strategies at DCs to achieve strategic KPIs



  • Manage demand forecast and supply plans to achieve target inventory levels



  • Constantly strive to improve processes, always aiming to delight our customers with industry leading levels of product availability whilst optimising inventory stock turns



  • Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure outstanding product availability and supply chain efficiency targets are consistently achieved



  • Establish and build strong and influential relationships with key stakeholders across Commercial, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain and Finance at all levels within the business including the Leadership Team.



  • Drive forecast accuracy, leading/implementing S&OP and continuous improvement across the supply chain


  • Effectively utilise Oracle SCM for forecasting and planning to identify exceptions and take appropriate actions to ensure consistency of inventory planning KPIs



  • Monitor and analyse actual performance versus forecast and provide financial analysis, including KPIs, for management decision making.



  • Monitor and analyse weekly/monthly/quarterly performance against Demand/Supply plans.



Profile



Person Specification



  • Highly analytical and numerate with the confidence to challenge the status quo



  • Effective communication and presentation skills at all levels of the business, including board level



  • Expertise in all areas of operational Stock & Inventory Management



  • A background in fast paced inventory planning environment with an in-depth understanding of the E2E processes



  • A strong leader with experience of managing inventory teams in high SKU count product environments



  • Ability to develop a high performing team culture, leading, motivating, coaching and developing a team



  • A continuous improvement ethos, constantly looking for a better way



  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload and work at pace to ensure all given deadlines are met



  • Proven success in people management, building a strong resilient culture through times of change



  • Proven ability to extract and analyse data to generate insights and recommend actions



  • Ability to break down complex problems, carry out root cause analysis and recommend/implement permanent countermeasures



  • Proactive approach to maintaining good working relationships, both internally & externally







Qualifications & Experience

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent



  • Minimum 3 years inventory management experience in a high SKU, complex environment



  • Knowledge of ERP systems
