Well then this is the job for you! My client a fast paced, growing business is looking for a Senior Logistics Coordinator to join their team.

The Senior Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the work of the logistics team which controls the day to day logistics of moving goods from manufacturing sites to UK customers, via warehouses and direct to customer, ensuring the targeted OTIF and cost control measures are achieved.

Responsibilities will include;
  • Oversee the day to day operational work of the Reverse Logistics Coordinator, and their primary activity of arranging empty keg collections.
  • Support the Logistics Manager by acting as coach and buddy in support of the wider team development
  • Monitor and guide the assignment of loads to hauliers vs the agreed plan, manage any out of scope costs for delays or damages.
  • Work closely with carriers on a day to day basis to ensure delivery of service agreements and achievements of OTIF targets.
  • Primary contact in the business for all day to day international logistics queries and problems.
  • Build relationships between UK 3PL service providers and international logistics carriers.
  • Coordinate the International Logistics service to achieve On Time In Full service metrics for customers and for deliveries in to the UK warehouses.
  • Find ways to improve the international logistics operation with a focus on continuous improvement, reducing complexity and improving administrative efficiency

The ideal candidate will have the following;
  • Degree educated or equivalent working experience
  • Proven experience in managing multiple supplier relationships
  • Prior experience of managing large volumes of shipments or managing large scale operations.
  • Experience working in a Head Office Logistics department ideally from a FMCG environment
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships at varying levels
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular Excel and working on a recognised ERP system
  • Good numerical and analysis skills
  • Strong leadership skills
