My client is looking for a highly motivated individual capable of leading a small team of professionals to deliver results, with the ability to understand the high level requirements of the various operational departments as they relate to procurement for a leading R&D/Pharmaceutical organisation based in the North West.

My client manufactures and markets a portfolio of leading brands and best-in-class products for the pharmaceutical sector and are looking for a Senior Procurement Manager to join their team.



Description

The Role



  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organisation's policies and procedures.
  • Provides management leadership to the procurement team in delivery of spend and savings goals within the business and optimising inventories.
  • Serves as a contact and Company liaison and internal customers up and down the supply chain.
  • Works closely with the development operations team to select, contract and manage strategic partners for outsourced biologic manufacture and testing
  • Develop solutions using existing technology to everyday purchasing / operational issues. Provide input as a SME to ensure appropriate controls are embedded in our ERP System
  • Reviews, analyses, and summarises inventory reports and documents to optimise ordering.
  • Work closely with the QA materials specialist to tighten procedures relating to the ordering and receipt of cGMP materials and supplier performance.
  • Communicates with suppliers to feed back when there are issues. Work closely with the OPEX team to identify and implement efficiency's across the company
  • Works with Global Legal teams to draft contracts and agreements for provision of services and supplies to the Liverpool site covering CAPEX Expenditure, Raw Materials supply, service support and Project plus Consultancy services.
  • Resolves any administrative, contractual or accounting issues related to signed agreements with manufacturing partners.
  • Works with members of the finance team to resolve supplier related invoice and purchasing issues related to price and quantity variances
  • Manages vendor issues and relationships - motivates supplier improvement and develops long term commitments and relationships.
  • Vets service providers for correct insurance cover, financial stability and if appropriate , practices around minimum wage or employee exploitation.
  • Responsible for advising management of any potential short falls, problems, or issues relating to the supplier in a timely manner.
  • As a key member of the Site’s Sustainability team, negotiates reduced packaging, waste minimisation and take back schemes plus other initiatives to help meet it’s 2020 Sustainability goals









Profile

The Person



  • Current Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Fully understands the implications of operating within a Pharmaceutical environment, complete with regulatory and GMP knowledge.
  • Professional qualification – CIPS or equivalent.
  • Degree level education.
  • Business and personal computer hardware and software applications.
  • Solid understanding of Supply Chain fundamentals gained through experience and/ or studying for professional qualifications
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organisation including senior executives internally and with Suppliers.
  • Establish and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Able to Build solid working relationship with the other departments
  • Provide excellent customer service with both internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated experience of managing cross-functional processes.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent leadership, organisation and negotiation skills.
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to maintain good relationship with Suppliers, their requirements, and the responsibility to recommend removing them if they are not performing in a compliant format.











Job Offer

My client is looking to offer a base salary of up to £52,900k plus very competitive package for the ideal candidate
