My client is seeking a Site Buyer to join their ever expanding Purchasing team. The successful candidate will report in to the Strategic Sourcing Manager with no reports in to you.

Client Details

My client is a Global leading developer and supplier of Automotive anti-vibration systems.

Description
  • To send product drawings out for quotation, obtain quotations for materials against new business opportunities and analyse quotations


  • In line with the business strategic objectives, assist the Strategic Sourcing Manager in negotiations to select, appoint and steer a supply base that progresses the company’s objectives on cost and cash, service level and technology platform


  • Attend new project meetings, proactively contribute to strategic activities, ensure early supplier commitment to new programmes with cost models which meet new business objectives


  • Monitor, manage and report on all external influences to cost and performance


  • Liaise with Production Control to resolve bottlenecks in supply


  • To identify cost savings on items purchased
  • Assist the Strategic Sourcing Manager with negotiations on all strategic sourcing contracts, ensuring all legally binding and auditable elements are accurately documented and retained (Non-Disclosure Agreements, Supply Contracts, accreditation data, quality audit reports etc)


  • Maintain and develop relationships with key strategic suppliers


  • Benchmark key suppliers on an annual basis to ensure competitive advantage

  • Proven track record in Manufacturing Control
  • Problem solving
  • Production and Inventory Control skills
  • Purchasing and Negotiating skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Calm in a demanding environment
  • Good organisational skills
  • Automotive background - preferable
  • Foreign Language skills - German
  • Team Player
  • Desire to learn and continuous development
  • CIPS qualified or working towards

Job Offer

Starting salary is £35,000 and capped at £40,000 DOE.
