Client Details

Based in Cambridgeshire, my client is an absolute top tier employer and a globally recognised name in the pharmaceuticals and biotechnology sector. They are seeking a Sourcing Manager and offer an exceptional career development path as well as strong salary and benefits.

Some of the key responsibilities of the Sourcing Manager will include:

  • Working with Global Sourcing Manager, implement strategic sourcing framework to identify current suppliers’ capabilities, business requirements and overall performance. Use the framework to develop a supplier rationalisation plan to optimise all suppliers in the portfolio (quality, capacity, systems and responsiveness).
  • Manage the overall capital expenditure activities within procurement – take lead on managing tenders and negotiations in support of the business, as per agreed process.
  • Manage and develop the relationships for a subset of key worldwide suppliers; with formal commercial disciplines and standards.
  • Negotiate commercial terms (to achieve the best contractual value) with Suppliers in portfolio or new. Negotiate continued cost reduction and efficiencies.
  • Work cross-functionally to discuss and resolve ongoing supplier-related issues.
  • Drive supplier relationship management (SRM) with each supplier, relevant to level of business. Determine critical metrics to track supplier performance and communicate with supplier to drive acceptable / improving performance through agreed action plans. Escalate as required to maintain value. Through supplier scoring and developing satisfaction ratings, identify preferred supplier status.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the above experience and be a commercially minded team player, who thrives on generating and developing relationships. The environment is very holistic and requires that new employees be capable of working cross functionally in order to achieve the best result.
