You will be responsible for supporting the Network Procurement team in delivering the supply chain strategy for both cross border and final mile suppliers through the means of delivering added value in service and quality. Your main focus should be building solid relationships with suppliers to ensure that all SLA's and KPI's are being adhered to.

Client Details

My Client are a global third party logistics provider who have specialised in freight forwarding and transportation for decades. They are committed in the development of high performing staff and see it as a priority to offer opportunities that enable their people to grow with their business.


  • To ensure effective supply chain management tools are in place for key strategic suppliers, including the development of vendor rating and performance review systems.

  • Monitoring service level agreements and key performance indicators to deliver improved service levels

  • Manage the annual carriers conference and frequent service level management forums

  • Conducts frequent formal carrier reviews both face to face and remotely, using an agile and structured approach.

  • Supplier management by monitoring, evaluating existing and new supplier opportunities.

  • Working closely with internal & external stakeholders to support the Network Procurement Manager in developing the carrier sourcing strategy to exceed service and procurement objectives with both existing and new suppliers as required.

  • Identify & pro-actively communicate with potential suppliers offering transport solutions.
  • Manage and Implement standardised, strategic & tactical carrier management program within the network for operations, Capacity, Quality/Compliance, Finance to deliver Customer Service levels

  • Develop Supplier SLAs and ensure adherence to contractual obligations via KPI implementation and management. Support contract renewals and renegotiations.

  • Develop network efficiencies and synergies via supplier capabilities (road maps)

  • Develop win-win relationships with key European suppliers in a highly political and competitive environment.

  • Drive continuous improvement to deliver standardisation in line with customer principles.

  • Key escalation point for suppliers and internal customers for our distribution networks. Effectively manage expectations, risks, issues and actions.


  • Working with cross functional internal stakeholders and external suppliers is essential

  • A successful track record in implementing governance and reporting processes

  • Influencing others to adhere to new processes and procedures

  • Provide assistance during the implementation of new business in relation to supplier development

  • Working in a fast-moving supply chain environment

  • Excellent communication skills to encompass both written and verbal

  • Demonstrating an excellent understanding of both supplier and customer's requirements.

  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of a number of different and highly complex distribution networks leading to the ability to identify gaps, root causes and challenges for improvement (Quality, Service).
