The role of the Supply Chain & Planning Manager will be responsible for bring the end to end supply chain together, to drive efficiency and reduce waste.

Michael Page are looking to recruit for a Supply Chain & Planning Manager for a leading Aerospace business based in the West Midlands

Description

Responsibilities:
• Meet operational performance standards for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity and Cost.
• The PM Sales, Inventory, Operational, Planning (SIOP) Champion - develop, promote and continuously improve the process.
o Develops the Sales & Operations plan for assigned SIOP product families and NPI components.
o Works with Sales to establish demand and Operations to create capacity to meet customer needs.
o Identification of the "plan for every part" strategy.
o Optimisation of inventory levels.
o Ensure resources are aligned to future customer requirements.
o Develop and implement procedural enhancements and improvements which make the PM operational planning, ordering processes and capacity modelling more efficient & effective.
• Owns the PM perpetual inventory process
• Work closely with the finance department on operational issues. Lead operational improvement, including cost down initiatives.
• Produce an accurate and articulate operational monthly report.
• Ensure tooling, equipment and plant expenditure achieves expected ROI.
• Ensure compliance with relevant Environmental, Health & Safety (HSE) regulations, Full compliance with the Company procedures.
• Training, development and appraisals of your team.
• Support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process via the allocation of resource capacity, and adherence to the stage gate process.
• Support the PM Technical Team in the identification and implementation of process automation initiatives.
• Lead and Support in personnel training, development, investigations and disciplinaries

Profile

Key skills and competencies required:
• Confident to experiment with new and existing technologies for business improvement.
• Experienced in managing organisational change.
• The ability to motivate and facilitate organisational learning.
• Demonstrable experience of process improvement.
• Understands basic financial accounting.
• Comprehends capacity planning, single point failure and theory of constraints.
• Can offer both strategic and tactical execution solutions.
• Capable of leading basic and structured Problem solving.
• Works hard, is efficient and has the perseverance to get things done.
• Maintains composure when faced with pressure or unexpected challenges.
• Quickly zeros in on the critical few and outs the trivial many aside.
• Eliminates road blocks and creates focus.
• Can negotiate skilfully in tough situations.
• Understands Quality and associated systems for automotive and aerospace, medical is desirable but not essential.
• Detailed understanding of lean methodologies.
• Extensive operational management experience. Engineering or Management degree/qualification.
• Experience of the automotive and aerospace industry would be advantageous, but not essential.
• Proficient in MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), expert with ERP/MRP/MPS software systems.
o Experience of ERP implementation considered a significant advantage.
• CIPS and or APICS certification would be a plus but is not essential.
• Strong data analysis, structured problem solving capability, detail-oriented and strong mathematical skills.

Job Offer

This role is paying between £60,000 and £70,000
