The role will require you to extract, collate, analyse, interpret and act upon consumption data from across the business. You will be required to look at spend data for a broad range of categories of supply and identify trends, best practice, areas for improvement and set and monitor targets for reductions in consumption levels. You will also be required to go out into the business operations, and supply chain, to investigate trends and, where appropriate, provide new guidance/documentation, controls, processes and procedures.

Main Duties: 

- Define, manage and implement sourcing controls and consumption strategies in the Hard, Soft and Indirect categories of supply, carrying out analysis and business facing change-orientated activity. 
- Driving performance management actions and initiatives across our key and strategic supplier relationships to increase controls and drive out costs. 
- Work closely with key stakeholders across multiple divisions to reflect and influence the needs of all businesses in the category strategies, new ways of working and engagement with the ‘frontline’. 
- Reporting to the Head of Strategic Sourcing, contribute to the ongoing design and implementation of a new category-led Supply Chain operating model for the group, supported by realisable savings and profit retention.
- Develop and implement practices for the monitoring, management and reporting on consumption and usage from a broad range of categories of supply. 
- Develop company-wide consumption reduction programmes and measure the businesses performance through target setting and league tables. 
- Carry out site visits and operational assessments to review consumption of goods and services and make recommendations to reduce usage and wastage

Skills required:

- Educated to degree level or equivalent. 
- A track record in managing procurement spend across varied categories of supply. 
- Experience of implementing consumption management/cost control initiatives. 
- Competent in the execution of financial and cost control initiatives with relevant compliancy audit experience. 
- Excellent data analysis, management information interrogation and reporting output design. 
- First class personal, written and verbal communication skills as well as tact, diplomacy and negotiating expertise in dealing with a wide range of knowledgeable clients, suppliers, and colleagues. 
- Significant commercial procurement experience. 
- Experience in a complex environment with a high level of interface with a diverse range of stakeholders and customers. Demonstrable influencing and negotiation skills, working with senior stakeholders from strategic suppliers.
