To provide administrative support to the Strategic Purchasing function from a project quotation, component/cost centre purchasing and systems maintenance perspective.

Client Details

Based in Rotherham and easily accessible from Doncaster, Sheffield and surrounding areas, this forward thinking business is looking to strengthen their supply chain team after a continuous amount of growth. This opportunity presents the successful candidate with the chance to develop their skill-set towards a career alongside a business that is expanding.


The successful Supply Chain Assistant will be responsible for the following:
    • Supporting the quotations of a project & ongoing purchases.

    • Initiating and providing updates regarding quotations and sample delivery status.

    • Information gathering and supplier account creation.

    • Systems maintenance from an SAP & OA perspective.

    • Arrangement of samples for R&D projects.

    • Purchase order placement for previously arranged samples.

    • Invoice Price Query Processing.

    • OA Process – BOM Routings.

    • OA Process – Fixed Assets.

    • OA Process – PIR Maintenance.

  • General day-to-day activities to support the Strategic Purchasing Manager/Department.


Ideally the successful candidate will have the following key skills and experience.
    • Previous experience working within a busy sourcing environment/team.

    • PC literate with a good understanding of Microsoft programs including Word, Excel & Outlook.

    • Experience of working within a fast-paced role/environment.

    • An understanding of purchasing terminology.

    • Excellent analytic skills.

    • The ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly.

    • An ability to analyse data and information strategically.

    • Excellent and precise communication skills both verbal and written.

    • A High level of accuracy and great attention to detail.

    • Ability to manage your own workload, deliver on time and escalate where necessary.

  • A desire to pursue a career in Strategic Purchasing.
